HR10-250 for OTA?

Is it possible to use the HR10-250 to just receive OTA signals (without paying any subscription fees to DirectTV or TIVO)?

No, you can't schedule recordings on it without the Tivo guide information. Check out the two Sony DVR's that are out, one of them might work better for you.

Thanks for the info Matt. Could I use it as an OTA receiver (and not pay DirectTV), then just subscribe to Tivo for the programming/recording?

No, it needs to be subbed with Directv, also the guide updates are sent down over the dish for the Directivo models, not via the phone line.
