I have a Sony SXRD 50 inch. For the heck of it I purchased the Monster THX 1000 Ultra cables. I attempted to connect the cables. It was like they did not fit. I had a feeling if I pushed too hard I would crack the back open of my HDTV outputs. I had a green, red and blue connector. I will be returning them due to a risk of breaking my T.V. Anyone else have the problem?

I have a problem with their prices. And yes, I think the connections are too stiff.

1. I assume you know that Mon$ter cables are very expensive - basically very high priced with no increase in performance over cables that are much less expensive. See the link below:

2. The connectors on their component video cables can be extremely tight and have been known to damage some equipment. One needs to "twist" them on and off if I recall.

3. You will be able to buy something else with the money you save when you return them.

That's odd, the Sony 60" set component inputs almost broke when I used the Acoustic Reseach component cabling, but the monster ones (not THX) worked flawlessly. But I think it is dependent on the TV and the cables directly, without a definite correlation to cabling manufacturer.
Try another set of cables or the other ends of them...that might work.
