Back in late 2001, I bought a rotator, pre-amplifier, and combiner from our local antenna service (G & S Antenna of Byron, MN). The owner, who sold me the parts sprayed the motor with some kind of lubricant, which he had found effective at preventing those freezeups, which are a very common occurence in Minnesota. The rotator worked fine through the winter months (we sold the house in may of '02).
Anyways... I just can't remember what the guy sprayed on the windings of the motor.
Tigerbangs, do you have any clue?

Call Norm's Rotor Service:

They'll give you the scoop: but if you have a Chinese-made rotator like a Channel Master or a Crown I'm afraid you may be in for a new rotator, as no one will fix them.

I think the problem is more of a freezeup.
I would make sure that the wires on the control box are attached securely, as they some times loosen and cause intermitant operation. If this doesn't fix the probem, take the rotator down and let it thaw out. After it warms up, hook it up to the control box, and see if it works.
I would also like to see a picture of you rotator. This will give us an idea where to go from here.
