Just started last week. When I record and show on FOX I'll end up with 5-6 chunks of recording. 22 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute, 14 minutes, 2 minutes, 19 minutes. The amount of time of each chunk varies, but the 1 & 2 minute segments always happen during comercials - but of course to make things inconsistant it does not always create these breaks during all comercials. This only happens on FOX shows. Last Wednesday I recorded Lost and Bones at the same time - Lost was fine, Bones was chunked. I've rebooted (pulled the plug) and still get the problem. Source is Adelphia, Cleveland OH. Anyone experience this? Hard to believe its a faulty box since it only happens with FOX shows.
This is almost always due to low signal strength (which can affect one QAM frequency more than other - usually the higher QAM frequency).
Measure the signal strength - see the HDTV FAQ "Tips for SA STBs". This can be fixed by a service call from the cable company. Also, if you have any splitters or long cable runs upstream of the STB, you can try removing them and also check to make sure the RF-coax connections are "tight".

57U - thanks.
Nothing has changed with the wiring in the house, but I have had trouble with squirrels eating the cable at the utility pole before. Cable tech was replacing the cable end at the house (low end of the cable) and when he clipped the connector off the wire water literally poured out. I'll check the sig strength tonight!
