I have a Sony SXRD 50 inch. I have an old Xbox one. I am attempting to get an Xbox 360. Does anyone know if you can system link game play between a Xbox and a Xbox 360?

The only thing that matches up betwen the 360 and the Xbox is Halo2 using live. no other games can be played live and you can not sytme link at all..It is either one or the other.

Yes, you absolutely can system link xbox and xbox 360. You can use a system link cable (a cross-over), or you can use cat 5 cables and a hub. The only issue is, of course, that you have to be running the same game (a classic xbox game from the 360's backwards-compatibility list). I have had several HALO 2 LAN parties with a mix of xbox and xbox 360's. Works beautifully. I would caution you, though, that the emulator performance on the 360 is not quite as snappy as the classic xbox running games natively. I always host the games on a classic xbox. Hosting the game on the 360 with 3 players on the 360 and others joining from other boxes results in choppy frame rate.

Yeah I've also read that you can do this, but again the 360 stills has little problems emulating the original xbox.

I'll stand corrected on the lan party, BUT you can not play a mix of 360 and Xbox game sytem linked. It has to be a XBOX game. And from what I have seen and read not many of the old games truly work.
