I Have A Hd/dvr Model Hr 10-250-r From Dtv. Since I Subscribed To Hd Wioth Dtv I Have Had A Audio Sync Issue On My Hd Channels. Disc Hd Is Un Watchable The Lag Is So Severe. Hdnet Is Out Also But Not To The Degree Of Disc Channel. Letterman Show On Cbshd Is Ok. I Have Called Dtv About This And Was Told I Had A Bad Hard Drive In The Hd Dvr. I Replaced Three So Far With No Change. I Had Two Techs Here And Both Said They Had Never Heard Of This Problem. I Find That Hard To Beleive. One Said It Might Be My Receiver. The Other Said It Was The Hd Dvr. Some Say It Is The Optical Audio Port Going Bad On My Receiver. The Reciever Is A Onkyo Model 777. It Is Probably Close To Ten Years Old. I Would Guesss This Could Be The Problem If All Channels Were Out By The Same Delay But Not All Over The Place Like My Situation. I Have Heard That Digital Cable Does Not Have These Problems And Im Ready To Dump Direct Tv And Try To Get My Money Back Since They Have Been No Help Trying To Solve This Problem. Anyone Have These Problems. I Live On Long Island,ny. Maybe It Is A Local Problem.
Thanks,any Help Would Be Appreciated.

Discovery has always had sync problems, I always experience it with both my HTL-HD and HR10-250, it's the channel. Some searching here or at other forums should turn up more info on it.
Please don't capatilize every word of your sentences, it makes them hard to follow.

Sorry about the capital letters. I actually typed in all caps and it somehow got changed when i posted it. You are saying that it is the channels broadcasting that poorly? Is cable better than satellite? If this is the best it gets than it is a total waste of money to buy a hd tv.

I only really have sync problems on the Discovery channel via Directv here, not sure why all your channels have some sort of issue. You can rule out the AV receiver by attaching the audio output from the HR10-250 directly to your TV and see if the lag is still there.
If you can get HD via your local cable, there's no contract with cable, wouldn't hurt to give them a try.

Thanks. I have not tried that yet. I have to wait until the wife and 3 small kids go out one day when I am home. I have to take down a bridged entertainment center to get behind to the components. Big pain in the ass. Thanks for the help.

Thanks 57U. I have called dtv on this issue and told them my suspicions that it is there signal and resposibility to fix it. I have also told them about other people having the same problem that i have met here on this site. They basically said that the people on this site are crazy and have nothing better to do than scrutinize every little pixel fluctuation and live their lives to complain about everything. Very frustrating to be paying for a service that they don't seem to care to correct. Anyone live on long island NY and have digital cable that could let me know if there signal works?
THANKS

The issues with Discovery I believe are with the feed Discovery is sending out to the providers. You might want to try contacting them.
