When Directv came out and installed my HD Tivo they said when the MPEG 4 system comes online this year that they are going to replace the HD Tivo with Directv's version of dvr. Just wondering if anyone has heard about this? A friend of mine just bought the new dvr from Directv and the whole user interface is horrible, thanks for your input.

This is old news, they are designing their own software for their new DVR's and dropping Tivo. You can find plenty on it searching around the HDTV forums.

Yeah, that's old news but I didn't know that the DTV interface is horrible. I've never seen it before. I thought it was going to be really good, possibly better than TiVo. Dang, my family is not going to be happy when I tell them that Tivo is being replaced with a new DVR that has a horrible interface. What is so bad about it? Can you provide specifics?

Thanks a lot for providing false/incomplete information, Mitch91 and not responding to requests for more information. I'll remember to ignore any future posts with your name next to them.
