Hitachi 51G500

Has anyone ever heard of the 51G500 model? I was told it was a new one but cannot find any info on it.

Actually have a brouchure from the Hitachi rep. Seems the new models will be available in Ontario by the end of January aprox. The G500 replaces the 51GWX20B, same essential features and price, the F500 replaces the 51 uwx20b. No real changes other then sold out of the old model numbers. One difference is the CRT lens are now supposed to be the Dow Corning/3M ones where the older ones were actually Hitachi made?. For those interested, Sears in Canada has the 51uwx20b on clearance until gone to make room for the new models. $2763 was what I was offered. $1800 US sounds even more attractive.

For point of reference in price, my 51GWX , bought late last year was $ 2050 US at Ultimate Electronics:)

I have this model and I am enjoying it very much. I did the manual Convergence as published on this site and it did wonders - fab picture.
