Recently purchased a HD Ready Philips 26PF5520D HD Ready television. Have connected up an X Box 360 however the only viewing I can get is thru PC mode. The message I get is 'Video Mode not Supoorted' I have had to connect an MS VGA HD Ready cable as the standard lead that comes with it is component based and my set does not have component inputs. Can someone tell me how I can manage to see images thru the HD Mode on the Philips.
Thanks for your help
Is it possible this TV doesn't accept 720P? Have you tried 1080i on the X-box?
Unfortunately this is a European model and the specs look a lot different than what we're used to seeing in North America.

Went down to a specialist shop yesterday. Tried an HDMI Philips LCD and a DVI Philips with the same connections as mine. (Philips made DVI only originally as it was cheaper. It appears that the only way to receive true HD is running a DVI/VGA lead with RGB Connectors through three female links and inputting the Standard component XBox lead RG into these. Here is a link on where to buy them if anyone ahs the same issue. The reason I understand is that HD can only be received in Digital and Analogue is transmitted through the Microsoft HD VGA Lead.
What I cant seem to find aare the female connecters which link the 2 male RgB Connectors. Does anyone know what they are called? :shootout:
Here is a link of the main lead required

This was a lot cheaper.

The conectors i wanted are called couplers. http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/AD004.html?id=HIW39Cpu Not sure if the couplers need to be red green and blue . I presume the RCA?'s are Universal and pass the signal thru the metal ends rather than wires. Hence they should be ok. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THAT 26pf5520d WILL RECOGNIZE XBOX 360 TRANSMISSION THROUGH THIS SET UP.
See page 21 for set up. http://www3.p4c.philips.com/files/2/26pf5520d_10/26pf5520d_10_dfu_eng.pdf
As I understand it this model has a complex set up. Why the fcuk havent X box brought out a DVI Lead. A
