PLEASE ADVISE:

I have the 42px60u and love the picture but for some reason on dark shows or movies (expecially HBO-HD), I see rainbow colors on occasion. What is causing this. Should I adjust something in the settings, i.e. picture?, brightness?, color?, tint?

Need help.

Since your plasma display has no color wheel, the introduction of rainbows can only be misalignment of the user controls. Oversaturated color controls might be the main culprit. I suggest checking all user controls with a test disk.

for some reason on dark shows

Since the user control "brightness" operates the darkest portions of the media, I'd start there.

Oversaturation of color can be adjusted with the "color" control.

Get yourself a test disk and follow the directions included. Be aware that even with test patterns, your eyes will have to be the final judge unless you have the display porfessionally calibrated.

Hope this helps some.

See the HDTV FAQ "What you need to do to your new HDTV". Get DVE or AVIA.

Greetings

What about the cable connection? If you are using Ant or low end composite video ... seeing rainbow like colors is not unheard of.

Regards
