PT47 Keeps turning off

Great TV but with some problems. The current problem is turning off. I will turn the unit on and within 5-10 seconds the unit will turn itself off and the only way to turn it on is to unplug it and start the process over.

Any ideas?

You have to start with the easiest/most probable, sorry if I'm insulting your intelligence. Is it possible your sleep timer is set?
