Upconvert Help

Hi

I recently bought an upconvert DVD player for my new Samsung LCD tv - I have it connected via an hdmi cable, but it doesnt seem to be any better than the last progressive scan DVD player I had. Am I doing something wrong ? Even with HDMI, the picture seems a little fuzzy, and if I bump it up to 1080i it looks even fuzzier, any advice ?

As discussed on many other threads, upconverting players do not always make a dramatic improvements. And as in your case... sometimes worse.

Agreed. Seems the upconversion makes little difference on my player (whether 10801, 720 p etc.).

Keep in mind your TV will scale the image to fit its native resolution, so in a sense the TV is already upconverting the image.
