View Full Version : Panasonic CT-34WX50 - Blue picture using component connection

I just bought my first HDTV, a Panasonic CT-34WX50. What a great picture from my SD cable box. I hooked my DVD player up using component connection and get a blue picture. Double checked the connections and bought a better cable but no help. Hooked the DVD up with S-video and it works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I take it to the repairman.

What make/model DVD player?
Have you checked the DVD player's setup options? Perhaps you have to 'enable' the component video outputs.

Try swapping the component plugs. I had a similar problem with my DVD player and found that the plug colors didn't match the way they should have. I'm not sure whether it's the DVD player that has the plugs wrong, or the component cable, or the TV. It works and I'm not going to experiment.

I'm thinking the problem is in the DVD setup screen as mentioned.
I had a red screen when hooking my component to my dvd player.
You need to change it from S-video setting to component interlaced or component progressive scan...whichever your tv can handle.
