I am looking for a HD TV. I like the sone 60" SRDX but I also found a 70" jvc for a little bit more that also seem to use LCOS. Are these set similar in quality and reliability? I got the room for a 70".

JVC have usually concentrated on bells and whistles (and price). I would not put JVC on the same quality level as the Sony SXRDs. I have owned several JVC VCRs because they had the features I required, however, they did not have good longevity compared to the other VCRs I've owned.

If you are patient, you could wait for the 70" SXRD, but that could be later this year.
Qualia 006 models are still pricey no matter where you find them.
The reported (or rumored) price of the new SXRD is about $6999 and the price of the current 70" JVC (which looks great) is less than that...google the model 96-ending suffix.
Now the newer JVC 97's are coming out soon, too, maybe sooner than the SXRD 70"...your choice.
I too, had several JVC SVHS VCRs and they were not up to quality I expected...sort of left a bad taste for other JVC products when I went shopping.
I do, however, understand your need for a 70" display...see my gallery and signature.
