I recently switched to using the dvi out from my motorola hi-def DVR box. Now when I switch channels there is a delay that goes from black screen, to white static to finally changing to a picture. This usually takes about 10 seconds. It also does this when fast fowarding standard def recordings. Anyone know what causes this. Tahnks for your help. this board fix my last problem perfect.

My H20 Directv does this IF I have the Reciever set to NATIVE and I'm switching between HD and SD channels.Thats because mine is switching from 480i-1080i or 720p.Depending on the channel.Maybe yours is doing the same.look at your manual because maybe when you use DVI output it might be set to a Native setting. GOOD luck

I have the same box as you and the only time I notice a real delay or anything like you described when changing channels is when going between SD and HD channels, as damondlt mentioned. It doesn't take anywhere near 10 seconds though - maybe 2-3 seconds at most.

I occasionally get delays when fast forwarding recordings, but no static or black screens. It seems to happen more this time of year than during the winter so I think it has to do with slight overheating. Try seeing if you can cool down the box and see if it helps.
