My new KDL46S2000 was delivered today and I'm very pleased with it. It's replacing my Panny TH42PX500U plasma that I had horrible problems (buzzing, picture distortions...I went through 3 sets and multiple repairs!). Best Buy let me return it and pick out a new TV even after nearly 1 full year since the original purchase date.

So far HDTV looks great, both through DirecTV and OTA locals. My Xbox 360 looks amazing, and SD channels look equivelant to my old Panny. And I still haven't really even played with any of the settings yet.

So far I'm loving the move from plasma to LCD tv. So if there's anyone out there thinking of buying this set I would say go for it! If anyone has any questions about the set feel free to post questions or PM me.

Excellent set, saw it at Circuit City the other day...it is the 768p set with the great contrast and colour...highly recommend it.
There are higher res versions of this 46" LCD panel, but this one is priced affordably and is a good size -bigger than you old plasma and has no burn in, either.
Enjoy!

vegasflyby,

I just got one myself. Do you have any settings recommendations? I'm trying to figure mine out. Thanks.

Here's what I have so far for my TV settings...

Backlight: 4
picture: 82
Brightness: 60
color: 40
Hue: G4
Color Temp: warm 1
Sharpness: 12
Noise reduction: low
black corrector: off
contrast enhancer: off
gamma: off
clear white: off
live color: medium
MPEG: low

Hopefully that helps you. If you find anything that works better let me know. I'm still playing around with DVD and Xbox 360 settings.

Thanks for the recommendation and settings as I am recommending this set to many of my clients who will be sitting about 6-8 feet away.
This set is bigger than the Panasonic plasma 42" or Sharp LCD 45" size, smaller than the usual 50" plasma without the burn in problems.
Many folks lately want the flat panels, but not for cool form factor as you might think, though the size for depth does figure in.
The requests come in for the ability to just turn it on without the need for bulb warmup, cool down and replacements that come with those DLP, LCD and LCoS RPTV sets.
Most request the need for turn on - turn off like they had with CRT based displays, as many come from the basic analogue CRT set and cannot relate to the bulb-driven sets from my more recent experiences.
Kudos to Sony for getting out this afforable LCD panel in this size - I have seen it and it just seems to work.
As for me, if it had come out on in the 50" size, I would probably have bought it.
Sharp's closest size after their 45" is 57" for their next-biggest LCD flat panel, but it lists for 16 thousand dollars (US), but I anticipate it coming down over time.
