View Full Version : Which DVD's have the Faroudja chip?
Does the Panasonic DMR-HS2 use the Faroudja chip?
I know some PS Panasonics have the Faroudja chip but wasn't sure if they all did.
I believe the Panasonic RP-56, 62 and 82 have the Faroudja chip. I don't know about the one you listed. Do a search in the forum on "Faroudja", there are a number of posts on the subject.
Good Luck,
Lee

High Mike, graduated from high school in San Diego way back when. My Denon DVD-900 has the chip at a price of around $ 250-299. You can read abaout the review at Crutchfield.com. Affordable and I have been pleased with it.:)

2 other panasonic players that have the Faroudja DCDi chip are the xp30 and xp50.
I just picked up an xp30 for $179, the PQ is amazing, much better than my jvc xv-s65gd.

I've seen Denon-DVD900's for as low as 99.00. Should I pick one up? I currently have a Toshiba 3950. Will I notice a big PQ difference with the DCDi?
