best price on a 42 and 47 inch westinghouse 1080p lcd set?

I am almost about to pull the trigger on this flat panel namely becsue of the picurre quality and above all the price - value.

I found out best buy had a special sale a few weeks ago on the 42 inch for $1499.99! The cheapest I have found is $1899.99 with no tax and free shipping through crutchfield elevtronics (this is after crutchfield matched bestbuys online price) . In addition there is also a $200.00 wrranty from westinghouse on this particular tv, that brings the total price for me out the door at $1699.99.

The 47 is really what I would like to have but the cheapest If ound in $2999.99, also through crutchfield. Anyone found anythign better?

I was told that with 1080p tvs, you really ought to get at least 50 inches to see the detail 1080p detail is meant to resolute, otherwise you really cant see the true detail and clarity detail of the picture from smaller tv's, so thats y I was leaning towards the 47 inch...but I dont know if i want to spend the extra $1300. I could use that money for a bluray/hd dvd player and the mounts for the flat panel.

Please tell me what your opinions and thoughts on this are, and also if you have found cheaper prices. Thank you

The 42inch 1080 set was $1699.99. + shipping

I caled crutchfield.com - gave them the amazon.com site..they verified and matched it! PLUS i got fress shippign and no tax!

I thought it over between the two sizes. Bought the 47inch from crutchfield.

total price - only $2399.99!!!

I am happy for you as LCD flat panel displays just need, IMO, an extra boost in resolution with 1080p to eliminate the grainy appearance if you sit closer than twice the diagonal-which you can with 1080p displays to get the immersive experience.

Sony sells a lower - resolution set at 46", but at a higher price, too.

My only hope for you is that it lasts a long time, as I am unsure of the quality of Westinghouse, but cheering for you that it is great!

Fill us in on your experiences with this new set and I am very glad you bought the 47" set - and that Crutchfield matched the price - I shop them, too. :wave:

I picked up the Westinghouse 1080p LVM-42W2 today at Best Buy and got a hooked up IF I pick up their 4 Years PSP Warranty...!!!

Note: :canada: Westinghouse is Limited up here in Canada...atleast in my City...!!!
