I've got a Sony SXRD 50" LCOS tv and I am getting overscan when I use hdmi input from my PC. I have a Geforce 4 TI 4200 video card and everything looks great -- except for the overscan. I lose the ST on the start button and I have to increase the size of the start bar in order to actually see it. So I'm getting overscan both horizontal and vertical.

I poked around the service mode a bit but I didn't see anything labeled HSIZE or VSIZE or HPOS or VPOS. Plenty of other codes, but not those.

Should I be pursuing something in the service mode? Or is there some way to tweak the advanced settings on my vid card to get it to display without overscan.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thx

All HDTVs have some amount of overscan. This is not a PC monitor and you'll need to adjust the PC output to display on the HDTV, not the other way around.

See the HTPC section and search for PowerStrip.

I set a custom lower resolution on my pc. I have an ATI card and it has these custom modes for HDTVs.

Ya Well I messed with powerstrip for about 12 hours trying to get it to work and I've had no luck shrinking the size without making it entirely undisplayable. I've gone through the guides and I just haven't been able to get it to work. Anyone have any recommended timings for the sweet spot?
