LG Progressive-Scan DVD Player : DN191H with HD Upconversion

I have a quick question. I am in need of a new DVD player for our new Home Theater. I am not usually an early adopter (Although I did drop $1000 for the HD TiVo) and usually wait for the second generation units to arrive. That said, I plan to ride out the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray format war for 9 to 18 Months.

I am interested in what ya'll think about this LG DN191H player and how it might compare to the Samsung DVD-HD860.

Does anybody have a better suggestion for about $120? Or, should I just but a Cheap Cyberhome for now and wait for the HD-DVD players to drop to $299?

BTW, I did read the FAQ - Upscalling vs. "Classic" DVD players ...... :usa1:

Also, this DVD player will be used with a Sony VPL-HS51A projector and a Da-Lite 119" Cinema Vision screen.

Just Ask,

I went to the local BB and asked about upconversion DVD players. The associate ( I was impressed with his knowledge- seemed more on par with a TWEETER rep) I spoke with told me that they had recently conducted a stare and compare of the low end Upconversion units that they carry and that the LG outperformed the rest. While not a scientific study, the sales person said that based on the resultes he bought the LG and has been happy with it.

yeah waiting for the HD DVD and BLUE RAY war to be over is something i've been thinking about doing there's not enough movies out there.

Update: I just won a Toshiba HD-DVD player at work. I won't get it until Late October. But, It looks like I won't have to sit on the sidelines much longer!!!!
