Hello, I'm new to the board and would appreciate some advice. I just purchased a Sony Wega 61 inch SXRD and a Sony HDMI home entertainment system. It was professionally installed by Best Buy. The problem I am having is the entertainment system echoes if I turn up the volume on the TV. I must mute the TV and just let the entertainment system play sound. Any ideas on why this might be happening?

Yes there is usually an inherent delay. Use the TV or A/V system for sound. Not both.

Some installs that competitors have done involve me coming back as a service call for that very sort of thing.
The store you mentioned is most frequently the one that gives me the after market "business".
The set you refer to comes in a 60" size for SXRD, not 61", but I got the idea.
Make sure your settings for surround sound, including all speakers/channels are working and sound good to you at your seating distance.
If you find a DVD with a THX test function in it, I would use it, or borrow someone's setup disc, just to be sure you are getting everything you paid for.
To be fair, all the SXRDs I have setup in client's homes have had the speakers on from the factory-seems these sets come that way and the installer you had just forgot to turn them off.
Good luck with your set up and enjoy!
