KDS-60A2000 PC input question

So I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out in figuring out which connection would be best for my PC.

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/filedownload.asp?Sub=&file=KDS60A2000.pdf

In the KDS-60A2000 .PDF file on page 19 they say, “Do not connect a PC to the TV’s HDMI input. Use the PC IN (RGB IN) input instead when connection a PC. “ But they don’t say why or if it will hurt it or just not give you the single you want…

But the best resolution you can get from then VGA input is 1360x768 but I would think going to the HDMI input and getting the 1920x1080 progressive, which is the TV’s native resolution would be best! The other problem I have heard with the XBR1 2005 model is when using the VGA PC input you get this big black box around the image so that’s no good either.

And last but not least is I’ve also seen cables that go from a VGA(DH15) to a component cable which would still be better then going in the VGA input because its going to be the TV’s Native resolution at 1080i not 1080p but still the right resolution.

So in closing if you guys can help me out to see which PC input would be best of these three that would be awesome!

DVI to HDMI
VGA(HD15) to VGA(HD15)
VGA(HD15) to Component

Cheers,

Does anyone HAVE this new model to comment or experience this yet?
It just started shipping a few days ago, right?
I will check around for actual users/owners if that helps

Some indirect, possibly useful info:

I know from playing around with feeding an RGB signal to a front projector that we got the very best results from setting the computer display resolution to the native resolution of the projector which was in this case 1024x768.

The RGB signal coming from your computer's display card will probably be limited to the maximum resolution that your graphics card can output. The card in my current setup won't output more than 1600x1200. Your's probably has some upper limit owing to memory on the card, speed of the DACs, etc. But the RGB connection doesn't limit the bandwidth of the signal, I used to drive a CRT with the RGB output of this same card, and the CRT happily displayed 1600x1200 images.

Well my video card can more then handle then resolution it goes all the way up to 2048x1536 and has a DVI output on it so the single is digital as DVI and HDMI are really the same just no audio on DVI. My card is a Ge-Force 6800 GT with 256MB of ram so the card has the house power.  I also read in the manual that the TV likes 60 Hertz too for the refresh rate.

I should have the TV in two weeks but and I have cables to test the VGA to VGA and the DVI to HDMI but I don’t have a VGA to Component to test. But if we don’t hear anymore form anyone else I’ll let you know what I find out.

I think you will be able to take your PC monitor output directly from the RGB output of your video card to the PC input of the display. No special cable should be required.

We already know this. The reason that this isn't what he/she wants to do is because it limits the resolution (according to the owners manual). I wouldn't want my computer to display a 60" image at 1360x768...

Yes, I see, it does limit the resolution.

Looks like the PC to HDMI input works ok, this guy has the TV and found it works. :D :rofl2:
FYI- The HDMI input work fine with a PC just need to underscan but you will get a better resolution that the VGA input which is limited to 1360x768.
