This TV has a feature in it's menu that allows you to make the TV a widescreen TV with the black bars and such, but what does this do to the games that use 480p and 16:9?

Such as Super Mario Galaxy (this is an example of what I'm talking about, even though it's not out yet, but I also mean the other games that use both of these features!)

Because I'm getting the Wii, and I have a Gamecube, Toshiba pro-scan DVD player, a Panasonic CD player, and a Rogers Cable box.

Another question, since the remote can be used as a universal remote, can it be used with all the things I listed above?

Also, what is the contrast ratio and Brightness of this TV?

Please don't cross-post. If someone has an answer, they will respond.

TV remotes are typically of little use for most other components - they don't have the codes or buttons.

It's more likely that the Rogers remote will be useful. Are you getting the SA8300HD DVR? People love their DVRs.

I did a search for the TV model number and came up empty. Is there an error in the model?

Personally (if this is the set), I wouldn't use it as a PC monitor. IMHO

Yeah, it's the KLVS20G10, and you guys didn't answer my widescreen and contrast questions!:(

Widecreen (16:9) programs/games will have black bars on the top and bottom on a standard (4:3) display. Non-widecreen (4:3) programs/games will fill the entire 4:3 display. That's no too tough to figure out....

If I (we) could find the "contrast ratio", don't you think I (we) would provide an answer?

You may wish to check out the HDTV FAQ on "Black Bars".
