Greetings,
For some reason I just notice Best Buy is selling HDTV Players in either Blue Ray Format or HD DVD. I have a Toshiba 51H84 RPTV so I was thinking of something like this:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7652523&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat87100050009&id=1134699969167

Apparently a movie will only be released on either/or
. So what do I do? Does anyone have any experience in this matter? I do know that Netflix offers Blu ray and HDDVD.

Thanks

You should search the relevant Threads on this forum for your answer. As it stands, HD-DVD has far more movies available than Blue Ray. Also, you should note that Blue Ray has not be getting the warmest of reivews due to the sub-par coding technology it uses (mpeg 2) as opposed to that of HD-DVD (VC-1). Definitely do some research on every forum, BB, and etc to find all the relevant reviews for the two devices in question.

Well you can be an early adopter and enjoy HD movies now, or you could wait it out untill the format war is over and cheaper players are availabe, more diversity in player models to choose from, better selection of movie titles to get, etc.

I'm waiting it out myself untill this stupid format war is over but with the price of some of these players at decent prices like the Toshiba HD-A1, if you feel the need to watch HD movies now then it's a good option and won't break the bank.

Good Luck!
