Hopefully someone knows what the problem is. I have had the SONY 60"XBR LCD rear projection TV for a little over a year. I love it, the picture is great, and it gets a lot of use. Already had to replace the lamp.
Yesterday morning I turned it on and there is some discoloring on the bottom edge about halfway across the screen. At first it was just about 3/4"-1" thick stripe but has grown to about 2"-3" and looks like it is starting to show on the left edge of the screen as well. The discoloration looks like it is white or blue and is very noticeable on darker pictures. If the picture is white or a bright color you can barely see the discoloring if at all.
This all happened all of a sudden. Just the night before I was watching a movie and there was no discoloring at all, then just a few hours later when I turned it on it was very noticeable.
I tryed messing with the color and picture options on the menu and nothing helped. I also unplugged it for 15 minutes or so and that didn't help either. I also remember seeing something in the owners manual of my surround sound system about the speakers and sub woofer causing picture discoloration if they are placed too close, so I moved all the speakers farther away and that didn't work either.
