View Full Version : Sony Bravio at costco
..trying to figure out what's going on here. Costco has a line of Bravio LCD's with unique model numbers i.e. KDL 40S20L1 40" LCD and similar for the 32 " Bravia. The model numbers are no where to be found on the Sony web site and Costco is the only one that has sets with these model numbers. Neither 32" or 40" have the cable card feature. But are the best LCD's on display amongst the Panasonic..Vizo and Philips LCD's. At first glance I thought it was a plasma (40"). Can somebody explain the model number anomaly?? :sightv:

I did a search for KDL 40S20L1 and found that it is listed in the Sony open source tables of model numbers. It also shows up in their Sony eSupport section. It appears to me to be Costco's Bravia version of the KDL 40S2000 (with some differences). My guess is that this is a set manufactured for Costco (and maybe priced less) and therefore carries a model number that identifies is as such. Kind of like Whirlpool making refrigerators, etc for Sears....they were made to Sears specifications and weren't exactly like the similar Whirlpool mainline product. By the way...I didn't find it as Bravio on the Costco site...it was listed as Bravia.
..makes sense. I decided to buy it. Looks even better at home. ya..I goofed up on the name..it's most certinly Bravia. I'm using the HDMI input.
