I have a friend who wants to hook up his xbox with the HD kit. He has a plasma set on the wall and needs a cable extension for the component cables, at least 6 ft. I have searched the net and thus far haven't found what I'm looking for. He is on a tight budget so option of a component switcher is out. Anyone know where I can find extension cables? (male/female connectors?) Thanks.

You just need something as simple as this - http://www.hdtvsupply.com/covicaaduset.html then you can hook two cables together. I suggest you check out your local RS, they should have female to female RCA combiners also.

You could try another componenent video cable (male/male) and use three "couplers".

Or, since he'll need a set of CV cables, just buy another set the correct length. You should be able to find something for $20 or so. Look into places like Monoprice.com
Manual CV switches are also available for about $20-30, by scouring the web.

He's probably using the one piece X-Box set, the cables are part of it and can't be interchanged with another set. Something like this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BCEJW2/sr=8-9/qid=1154970157/ref=sr_1_9/102-7412923-1580907?ie=UTF8). The newer MS model is a one piece unit also where the older one you needed to supply your own cables to go with it.
Thanks for the clarification mjones73. In that case it's either couplers or a switch. I'd recommend the switch if he's moving the cables around a lot, to avoid moving the cables around a lot. ;)

Thanks for the help guys...I didn't know the couplers were out there, seems like a simple fix for the problem. Thanks again. Jim.
