Well, I finally installed my HD-200 receiver, but I haven't been able to hear any digital sound. I haven't caught an OTA HD program yet and have too mush ice on my roof to install the 3 LNB oval dish to try out HDnet. Should I get digital sound from the local digital channels? And what about HBO HD?
Thanks,
Kurt K
All digital stations have digital sound - typically DD2.0. If you're talking about DD5.1, check out the post on DD5.1 in the FAQ section - 7th one down on the home page.

I just needed to verify that the local digital stations were supposed to have digital sound. Right now, I'm not getting any digital sound. Probably some thing wired wrong on my part :(
I'll be sure to re-read the 5.1 FAQ
Thanks

Is there a possibility the the audio output of HDD200 has to set accordingly? IE... digital/optical/coax/bitstream? Make sure that it is not set to PCM. That is for digital stereo, not DD.
Also, check that the audio receiver that you have it connected is set properly. All local digital channels should at least be outputting DD2.0.

Here's a little more info. I've got a Denon AVR-3300 receiver that has 3 optical inputs and 1 digital coax (used by my DVD). In the Denon setup I've tried different devices set to "Optical 1" (where the cable is connected). The HD-200's digital ouput is set for "Dolby Digital". I just bought the AR optical cable last night, could the cable be bad?

Kurt,
Also check to make sure that both speaker buttons are depressed. They should be on the front of the receiver and labeled A and B.

If you are refering to the A & B speaker buttons on the Denon receiver, I don't think those should affect the sound from the front. I believe the A & B are used to select 2 different rear channels, but I'm stuck out of town right now and can't confirm this in the manual.

I belive on my set (older Denon) A controlled the front while B controlled the back. I had accidentally pushed the buttons while rearranging my living room and spent 2 days trying to figure out what was wrong. I re-re-ran the speaker wire, tried going into the AV setup again and again. Tried different Toslink cables and everything just to find out the buttons were not depressed. I pressed them in and had sound just like that.
Also, this really only applies if you get NO sound at all from the reciever even from different sources. I had the cable STB, XBOX, VCR and DVD plugged into the thing.

ok, well I'm getting sound from my DVD player, old RCA DirecTV box, VCR, radio, etc. but I will try it as soon as I get home.
