Sony KDF-E42A10 Fan noise at power-on?

I just purchased a new Sony 42" lcd projection tv (KDF-E42A10), and notice when I turn the power on there is a short but fairly loud, low frequency "rumble" sound. I assume this is the cooling fan spinning up. Is this normal or the sign of a defect? I can still hear the fan afterwards when the TV is running, but just barely. Does anyone else with this set notice it's briefly louder (about 1 sec) when you turn in on?

I have KDF-E50A10 and Had for almost a year ,and have no such problems.better have it looked at?

My 42" LCD Projection Sony does the same thing. The fan has two speeds, one for low altitude and one for high altitude (I think high altitude is above 4500 feet). If in your setup you specified low altitude, then the fan will start up fast and slow down after a couple of seconds. If you specify high altitude in the setup, the fan runs fast all the time.
