Has anyone heard anything about if/when Charter in CT (I'm in Newtown) will ever start carrying ABC-HD? What is the big deal with this channel? WTNH has been broadcasting an HD signal for 5 years. I was hoping they'd add it for the upcoming college football season but I haven't heard squat. Anyone? Thanks.

Not sure about CT but in MO, the most heard reason is a battle between Charter and ABC.

Charter has a "free" HD package that comes with the box. It's basically the networks, PBS and FSN Midwest. Their HD Tier includes TNT, ESPN, HDNet and HDNet Movies, Discovery, and MHD and costs $6.95 per month.

ABC wants to be part of the pay tier, Charter wants them to be included with the other networks in the free tier.

In CT, the problem is the company that owns WTNH (Lin Broadcasting). They are demanding Charter pay extra to show their HD feed. If you search around, I think only Comcast in CT has agreed to pay for ABC-HD. None of the other larger companies (Charter, Cox) have ABC yet. I would recommend bombarding Lin with complaints. I've been trying for months, but I guess they just don't care.
