From looking at them at the store(not real close) the Sony Bravia always seem like one of the best looking LCD sets. Always seems to stand out.

Hell for the price your willing to pay for the Sony and Samsung I'd personally get this set. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7699163&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050006&id=1138084694260
It's a 1080p set, both DVI and HDMI and VGA inputs accept 1080p. I mean go for 1080p at that price. I've read nothing but good things about the Westinghouse even though it's not a huge name. If I was buying a TV right now this is the one I would get.

Are you gonna be watching tv with an antenna, cable box or satellite receiver. If it's one of the last 2 you wont have a problem but if not then your correct.

I'm intending to buy the Sony. I say spend the money. You are going to have the TV for a long time. ^_^

Your correct there is no tuner of any kind. If your going to hook up Sat or Cable no need for the tuner anyway. Best Buys descriptions suck it says no pc input when it does have one.

I think either TV would work fine for XBox, PC, home theater etc. However the Sony has no firewire wire input, but it does have an extra HDMI. If you have two DVI outs on your graphics card I'd go with the Sony. However if you don't I'd go with the Samsung for the Firewire connect. I think in general the Sony is a nicer TV. The Samsung has that glossy black frame that imo isn't a great idea for LCDs. It just accentuates the poor black levels LCD can't avoid having.
