HDTVs are typically 26" or larger because HDTV images typically only look better (worth it) on the larger displays. If you're looking for something that small, the only thing you'll find is LCD flat panels, some of which may be 768P..

57U,
If thats the case than do I understand that I will never be able to receive the HD channels on my smaller bedroom TV??

A widescreen (16:9) 20" has a smaller viewing area than a standard 4:3 screen. If the TV will be about 2 or 3 feet from you face (while in bed), it may be acceptible. IMO, 19 or 20" display is not anything more than a widescreen computer monitor.
Any HD capable TV can reproduce an HD picture, but you need an HD source (internal/external tuner).
The point is that on a "small" display, HD doesn't come across as 'earth shattering'.

Sorry.... I re-read the post and I've kind of figured out my own question..... I think. So can anyone offer any advice on which 19" or 20" HD ready TV I should buy?? There doesn't seem to be much info out there regarding the smaller sets. I just know if I'm watching a HD program downstairs on my big TV and decide to go to bed I would like to be able to finish watching that same HD program there, albeit not with the same quality.

There are a few 19/20" LCD models available. Many do not include a digital (QAM/ATSC) tuner. So, if you intend to hook the TV to satellite or digital cable with an external tuner, that will open your choices.
Sharp Aquos sets seem to be well liked be many.
