I am looking for a flat screen, LCD, High Definition TV. I am looking for a TV anywhere from 32 inches to 40 inches. I am looking for the best picture as well as as many inputs as possible. This will, most likely, be the last TV I buy for a long time (according to my wife). The smaller the "footprint" of the TV the better as I have some space limitations where the TV will housed.
I would be very interested to hear what you folks think I should be looking at for TV's. Price is a factor in my decision but not the most important.
Thanks in advance.

Price range?
Internal tuner necessary?
Cable? Satellite?
What/how many external devices are you connecting (dvd, game consoles, etc.)?
Space requirements (H/W/D).
How many A/V inputs (HDMI, DVI, component, etc.)?

Here's a starting point for ideas.

I am not sure what an Internal Tuner is or if I need one. I would need more information before deciding.
Dish Satellite
Space- I have a TV Stand that is 23 inches by 23 inches. I could place the TV so that it extended beyond the edges of the stand but the base would have to fit in the above dimensions. I am hoping to be able to fit a 40 inch flat screen but may have to settle for something smaller.
At this time, my system consists of a Onkyo receiver, a DVD player, my Satellite receiver and often I will watch movies or other media by connecting my MACBook which has a composite (A/V) and a mini-DVI.
I would like to be able to expand in the future if other peripherals emerge in the future.
Hope this helps.
Thanks again.
Phil

XBR Series or S-Series?
XBR Color is a little weak but over all a nice screen with a small footprint

One more thing. I will be watching the TV from about 11 feet away. Is 40" too big? Thanks.

No, it's likely too small. See the HDTV FAQ "How large an HDTV to buy".

I watch my 61" from 11'.
