OK, I will give a bit of back ground on what I have.

TV= Sony 42" LCD. Has only 1 input for digital optical.

Surround Sound= Sony something. Has only 1 input for digital optical

Misc Items

Xbox 360= 1 input for digital optical

PS2= 1 input for digital optical

Comcast Cable= 1 input for digital optical.

I am having trouble connecting my surround sound for audio. I only have 1 input from my TV, Cable, Receiver (surrond sound), Xbox 360, and PS2.

Is it possible to buy some sort of box that I can connect all these to and then run one cable to my surrond sound?

If that is not an option, is my alternative to just unplug each when I want to use it?

If I just want my TV to be surround sound does the optical cable run from my cable box to the surrond sound receiver? Or to my TV? Or from my TV to my receiver on my surrond sound?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have anymore questions please let me know.
Anthony

A quick note. Right now I am running an HDMI cable from my cable box to my TV if that makes a difference.

To note... all of the devices have optical "outputs". The surround sound receiver has an "input".

You can use something like this:

Thanks.

I guess I am new to this. I am referencing the plug with the red light, hte digital optical cable, like THX, etc.

Is there a box that I can connect multiple ones to and then to my TV or receiver.

Check you local stores for something similar. If you can't find one locally, then online would be the only other option.

I use a Pelican System Selector Pro. I am not sure if it's exactly what you need but it's very well put together. It has about 8 or 9 channels, and each one will have inputs for component, composite, s-video, optical out, and even ethernet out ports.

Here's a review if you want to check it out.

This thing runs (ran) for $100, but I picked up mine clearence for $30.
