When I turn it on it takes about 1 + minute for the screen to get to it's full brightness. It did not take this long when I first got it. It is about 2 years old. Is this a signal that the lamp is on it's way out? I have another same make and it comes on within 15 or so seconds.

Sounds like the lamp is ready to be replaced IMO.

How many hours are on the lamp? If it's roughly 2 years old and has heavy use and lots of power ups and downs, the lamp probably needs replaced like Ratman said.
If you wanted to know for sure though, since you say you have the same TV elsewhere, why not swap out the bulb in the newer TV with the older one and see if that solves the problem.

My other one is a sony 50" and a little newer model and takes a differant bulb.
I ordered one just in case. $193. on the internet.
