Hi all
Have been looking at this set(Samsung HL-S5086W) at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Faudio-video-portable-accessories%2Fb%3Fie%3DUTF8%26node%3D1065836&tag=dvdhd-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325) . 1400 and free shipping seems too good a deal to pass up.
My question is has anyone purchased the extended warranty from amazon and if so how was the service?
seems very cheap(119)for 4 years.
Also any feedback on this set would be nice as well.
thank you.

Price is good but the Service plan is sketchy. Go back to Amazon and read the rviews of all plans including the 4yr versions. It does not say anyhting about bulb replacement.
BTW HHGregg and best Buy In Atlanta are offering the same TV for 1399.

Well a $119 is dirt cheap and there is free shipping. I don't believe you pay sales tax on amazon so I would look at the $119 as your sales tax and shipping in your mind. :)
For that little bit its worth the comfort even if it doesn't cover the bulb.

Ok, there are a couple things I want to mention here. First of all, the $119.99 service plan for 4 years is only on tv's up to $999.00. You need the $229.99 service plan for tv's from $1000.00 - $1499.00. Also, the warranty covers everything under the sun for in-home service... except bulb replacement. This is handled under the manufacturer warranty for the first year for most - if not all - of the manufacturers. After that, you are on your own. Hope this helps.
P.S.
Amazon.com is currently in the works on getting the service plans to be more clear on what price range they cover. Currently, the correct service plan *should* be listed under the item you ordered farther down the page.
