just bought a 50" Samsung Plasma.
i also shoot a lot of video and have recently started to shoot in HDV (hence the new TV  ).
naturally i want to hook up using the HDMI port, and while i like and use Sony Camcorders, my camera dealer insisted on giving me a Sony HDMI cable at half cost.........it's around 10' and he gave it to me for $30.00.
i already from past life (audio) know better than to consider the Mobster brand as we all know what a gimmick they are, but WOW, the same cable from Mobster costs around $150.00?

my question is, will the Sony made cable be sufficient for my use?
i want to see my HD videos at their best.....
thx

The Sony cable will be sufficient. There are plenty of places you can buy good HDMI cables for $10-$20. See the HDTV FAQ "DVI/HDMI Information".
