Damaged Sony WEGA Rear-Projection LCD HDTV

After a party this weekend, our TV has a jagged black spot about 3"x3" where the picture does not show through at all from some angles and barely from others. Did it get hit or spilled on, maybe, and most importantly, how to fix it? thank you.

Perhaps something got dislodged onto the light engine. A can of compressed air blown around the light engine may help. If not, time to call for service I guess.
