Question about inputs

I have a PT-47WX49E and it has Component 1 & 2 inputs then regular video inputs 1 through 3 on the rear and a Video 4 input on the front. My question is how do I make the regular inputs on the back work for say a PS2 and a DVD player? When I hit the button to switch inputs it goes Component 1 HDTV, Component 2 DVD, and Video 4 with a pink asterisk. Anyone have anyidea what to do? Thank in advance!

It sounds as though it's currently "skipping" certain inputs. Read the operating manual on how to "unskip" the inputs. It should be under the user menus somewhere.

DVD players usually look best on component video though, not S-video, etc.
