PT53WX53G picture quality

This may have been posted many times but i can't find it.

I have a PT53WX53G. It shutoff by itself while watching the TV and after unpluging and pluging the power cord from wall it came back on but since then When a bright white background appears there is a green halo or ghost around anything against that background. Also the when I go into menu all the letter are blurry...

Service guy told me that he needs to rebuild the HV circuit and focus block to fix the problem and wants to charge $385.00

I am so frustrated...
Any idea?

You could perhaps get a second opinion, but if you can't do the work yourself, then you'll either need to pay to get it fixed, or scrap the TV.
