I just bought this television the other day, and I had my dvd player hooked up by the standard yellow video cable, which looked fine. I picked up a set of component cables for the dvd player and switched it to progressive scan. I have noticed one problem that i cant seem to fix no matter how much i mess around with the contrast/brightness ect.
There is noticable horizontal streaking caused by bright text when using the component video inputs, if i switch back to regular video cords, the lines go away. this is especially noticable on the blue screen with white writing on DVDs which display: This Motion Picture Has Been Rated... (such as the start of The Lord Of The Rings, or Master and Commander DVDs). The streaks/bands appear to be the inverted color of the bright text: on the blue screen above, the white writing causes darker bands across the width of the TV. I've read that other ppl have had this problem, and I need to know soon if i can fix it by adjusting the colors and what not in the menu to certain values, i need to know if it can be fixed soon, so i can still return it if i have to. PLEASE any help would be greatly appreciated,
