Home depot has a good deal on a FLX - 3202 - $478 (cheaper with a coupon)...

I believe its a black friday deal but they are selling them now.

If you have an element set, post in this forum.

I just got back from HD & looked at the Element FLX-3202. I was shocked to see the Contrast is 800:1 and the Response time is 16ms, not good enough for me! So I guess I'll be @ BB or CC on Friday morning freezing my butt off! Hope this helps! :boo2:

I've seen a claim this is a rebranded Polaroid. Anybody know anything about that?

Was anyone able to get one of these at Home Depot today?

Ive heard some stories of managers buying them before the stores open only to have people camping outside not having any sort of shot at them.

Does anyone know if there is a signal meter for the HD OTA Tuner?

I just bought one today at Home Depot. It is a pretty nice tv. Not bad for under $500. They had 5 for sell at my local store.

this tv IS a rebranded polaroid. element electronics is a new division of Petters Consumer Brands, LLC. Petters comsumer brands is the parent company of polariod, oster, sumbeam, emerson, and a few others. If you go to elementelectronics.com and click on terms and conditions...scroll to the bottom and it will tell you they are part of petters. then go to pettersgroup.com for confirmation. for futher confimation look up the polariod flm-3232, and compare it to the element flx-3202. they are the same tv, although I think the element has a 8ms response though. Even the model numbers look very alike. Anyways, I was out at Home Depot in Atlanta at 4am and I was first in line and got one. They had 14 of them. The picture is good and its a solid tv.. Yea its not the greatest, but its probably the best lcd for the price....you really can't beat $480 for a 32" lcd tv, polariod, sony, whatever. You just can't beat it. If you want to spend more, then of course there is going to be something better out there. but for the price, its a great TV.

Hi im new to this forum and this was my first hdtv. Stood on line for 4 hours to get it but so far so good. Anyway, i primarily use this to hook up my xbox 360 to it and curious me wanted to see what would happen if i set my 360 to 1080p. Well a surprising thing happened, the tv said where it normally says the resolution "1080p" and it kept on working, no reset no nothing. That left me to wonder, why would a 1080i tv even have 1080p as a display in its settings?

Also i asked my friend to try it with his tv, although a different brand but it was a 1080i tv and his tv reset and defaulted back to 1080i. Anyone know whats up with that?

Beware do not hook it up to your PC. Another member of this site and I have both experienced the worst. The TV froze after a few minutes being hooked up the our PC's via the VGA port on the back of this set. I posted this morning on this thread but it got deleted. Maybe because a linked to the other thread, I dunno. Search for FLX-3202 on this site. The man's description to what happened to his set is exactly what happened to mine. So now I wait for a service man to call since HD won't be getting any more of these, Yippee!

has anyone had success with connecting the TV to their PC. also, im wondering if anyone has seen a difference in clarity when either running an HDMI cable from their HD box to the tv vs. running component cables. i currently have monster component cables running and the HD looks pretty good, however when watching tennis or hockey i feel like the image is a little slow compared to my dads sony HDTV. im assuming this is probably just because of the fact that is TV is alot better and more expensive, but i am wondering if this HDMI cable would really be worth the 70 something bucks it goes for. thanks

I got this TV from Home Depot on Black Friday, and I bought a HDMI to DVI cable to hook it up with my PC. Everthing works well! has no problem at all. It's crystally clear. Since I use DVI connection, i never tried the D-Sub connection. My tv des not freeze at all when connecting through DVI. My graphic card detects it as "Pro View/EMC/PTS FLX-3202" with native resolution of 1280*720. I have been use it as both computer monitor and HDTV for a week without any problem. However, when I tried to use PIP to watch TV and using PC at the same time, it's almost impossible to get any clear signal from the ATSC tuner. I guess it may have something to do with the processor of the TV. The analog signal is not that good, but since the digital tuner got all the channels I need, I don't think I'll ever go back to watch tv by using analog tuner. All the HD channels are very clear, and I only use my crappy antenna from dollar store.( I was pretty amazed by that) When I first got the unit, the 16ms response time got me worried for a little bit, but after using it for a while, I haven't seen any ghosting at all, so I was pretty reliefied. the picture of this tv is not the best, but comapre to other 32" hdtvs cost for $800+, I am pretty satisfied with it.

I got this TV on Black Friday as well. I have it hooked up to a computer through VGA (the computer is a home built PVR) and it worked fine for 7-10 days (I didn't use the TV between the 7th and 10th days). When I tried to use it next, the stand-by power light was on, but the buttons on the remote and the buttons on the TV wouldn't do anything. This wasn't the first time the TV had locked up, but both other times I was able to unplug it...wait a minute...and plug it back in. This time was different, though, in that when I plugged it back in the stand-by light wouldn't come back on. As is posted in another thread, the tech service company told me to check the fuse, but the fuse was fine. At this point I have a paperweight in my living room while I'm waiting for them to assign me a person to do in-home service (and I've read in other forums that I shouldn't hold me breath). This power issue seems to be an issue with these TV's, as I searched for the Polaroid version of this TV (Polaroid flm-3232) and found a forum with this same issue. I have to say that I was very impressed with this TV until I ran into this issue. Hopefully the service people will be able to fix it moderately soon.

ATSC tuner is for digital channels OTA (Over the Air). You will need an antenna.

QAM tuner is for digital cable. This allows one receive unencrypted digital channels without a cable box. If the TV has CableCard, you can get encrypted channels. Most cable providers only send "locals" unencrypted.

They finally called me back after 2 weeks. The manufacturer has stated that they are having problems with parts on this model and there is a lack of them. They are not even scheduling repairs at this point and said to return the television. I asked, "what if I waited it out?". The reply I got astounded me and I was told if it went past a year that I wouldn't even be eligable for the warranty and I would be out of luck. So I quoted the person on the phone about the upgrade portion of the warranty and told them I am holding them to this. I will speak to the supervisor of their, "Contract Solutions" on Wednesday. I will post any results I get.

I am astounded that they made a warranty and have no way to even back it up :headb: . I even have localized service providers to repair the unit. Petters/Polaroid/Element Electronics need to budge on this because there are other people with the same issue as other posts in this thread have shown. Don't hook up your PC's to this thing!!!! :headb:

I'm not budging on this :grandpa9:

I had the same issues. The FLX-3202 is so new the manufacture code is not listed in most manuals. You must follow the instructions in your remote manual that indicates if your code is not located. Most universal remotes have a way to learn the code from an existing remote. I followed the instructions and now my FLX-3202 is responding the DiskNetwork TV remote control. I hope all goes well.

Okay, we posted earlier on this thread. We ran into a "dead and unresponsive" problem after hooking it up to our PC. We were told the first week of December that the part to fix the set was on backorder until the 24th, yes, Christmas eve. I personally though it was just steam. Sure enough, I picked up our TV a week ago from our local TV repair shop Element had contracted and it works fine now. The repair shop told me that the problem was one of the circuit boards inside. He couldn't get any voltage through it. The retail price of the one smaller board he replaced was about $780.00. Almost twice what I paid for the set originally. Ouch! And no, we haven't hooked it up to the PC since we've gotten it back. Maybe I'll get gutsy a month or so from now but not yet. Happy New Year!

I have the 19" hooked up to my pc via the vga and i'm using an ati 9800xt graphics card and haven't had a problem past two weeks now.

I also have the 22" and I have to say these tv's are great, and what a price!! The best thing is the 5ms response times for both.

I have comcast service and can't find a code for the remote so if anyone finds out what code to use, please lemme know.

I know this is a dead thread, but I own a polaroid FLM 3202. It is an element TV.
Kinda wish I knew if it had a QAM tuner in it or not, but frankly, I experimented with inputting the cable TV connection into the HD tuner and got zip.
Any thoughts?

Had comcast come out to repair problem they claim not comcast that its the tv. I exchanged the TV 4 times and still doing same thing. Only on HD channels do I get that annoying static. I use HDMI cable hook up and switched that cable out 4 times. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong? I got till tomorrow to return for full refund or I am stuck with it. Please help this nooB......

Have you tried hooking it up via component with analog audio cables?

PartyToker
10-28-2007, 03:33 AM
Yeah I have tried hooking up via component cables and analog audio cables. The problem I have running that way is the sound is no longer 5.1....I tried hooking up optical audio from cable box to my surround sound. Then I run into problem of controlling the sound on the TV (its disabled, no audio hooked up)....I spoke to some other tech and they stated that I should not use the hdmi cable supplied from comcast...He recommended getting a monster hdmi cable for those are shielded better and handles higher transfer speeds...If that does not work at least I wont be out the money on the cable (returnable)....I will post update sometime next friday as that is the earliest I can make it down to the store. Thanks

mjones73
10-28-2007, 06:37 AM
1) The TV has two speakers, no point in passing it 5.1, most if not all sets accept only 2 channels of audio via HDMI and many do not behave well when you pass them 5.1.

2) You can try the cable if it's returnable because most likely you will be returning it, the "shielded better and handles higher transfer speeds" comment is marketing bs. If you had a bad HDMI cable, you'd be seeing what's referred to as sparklies in your picture due to dropped data.

PartyToker
10-28-2007, 08:31 PM
Yeah I get sparklees that comes along with the sound.......Like I said it has to be this cheap ass hdmi cable that comcast supplied which from what I understand comcast does not issue them at all so why they gave me one who knows....

I had the same problem hooking my computer up to my tv. i was able to call element and they told me to ship my tv back to them and they returned it to me within two weeks they even fixed the dead pixel i had on my tv. the only downside was that i had to pay 28$ to send it back to them but i got the tv for 249 on memorial day at circuit city so im still ahead even with paying the 28$

Customer service was no help, basically said THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PROGRAM. They will repair it for the cost of a new TV. If I have any complains send them to. Maybe strength in numbers?
