View Full Version : Sharp LC-45gd4u - can't reset view mode

I have my Sharp LC-45GD4U set up as a monitor with the signal coming on Component video cable from my Yamaha RX-v2700. I have found no way to reset to "side bar" viewing from the view mode settings. I find it most annoying to watch distorted channels, I'd rather have the bars and an accurate picture. How can I get this back to normal.

I have tried the reset and system reset buttons on the back of the TV, I also have not been able to find the EZ Setup the maual refers to. I have no such setting under the Setup Menu.

Help.

The stretch modes are available for SD channels, but often not for HD channels depending on the TV. Also, if you're using a STB, you may have invoked a stretch mode there. You'll need to get one of these back to "normal".

See the HDTV FAQs:

- Black Bars
- WS Stretch Modes.

These are sometimes called Aspect or zoom or wide settings on the TV.

That is what bothers me most - it is stretching the HD channels as well as the SD channels. That is why I want to reset it. I had it set to normal/default in this same sort of system. For some reason once you elect to use the view modes it won't let you go back - at least I cannot figure out how to go back.
