Looking at Panasonic 56" PT-56LCX16

I have no idea what to get but saw the 56" PT-56LCX16 at Sams. It says HD Display 720p/1080i. Not sure if that's good. Is this the type you have to worry about bulbs. I see LCD, Plasma, DLP, and others and aren't sure what direction to take. Thanks
