Wow! Great site!
I am, obviously, a newbie at this HDTV but feel I'm ready to make the plunge. Of course I have the requisite newbie questions...so here goes.

I have a Mitsubishi ( 2 years old ) 51" HDTV "ready" TV. I live out in the woods, so have no cable or OTA capability and now use DirecTV.

1) HDTV receiver - Does brand matter? Mitsu? Samsung? Zenith?
2) Dish - I believe I'll need to upgrade my dish/sevice. I have 3 other TV's ( non-HDTV ) hooked up to the dish. Will they still work with the new dish?
3) Installation - I'm somewhat electronically challenged - Should this be installed by a pro?

Thanks in advance

John

I'm totally not an expert here, but think I can provide SOME help:

1) I don't know that brand matters all that much. I have a HUGHES receiver that does Dish AND OTA transmissions. . .it's very nice in my opinion.

2) You will have to upgrade your dish to an HD capable (eliptical) shaped dish. You CAN attach this dish to NON HD tv's, and you will still continue to receive Satellite tv on them. You can hook an HD dish to a NON HD receiver and get transmission. . .just not the HD transmissions.
