I've recently here'd about a new DBS service called HD SAT. Apparently they will have 20 HD channels available at time of launch (Here'd June,03'), and also the standard SD channels also, which most will be al a carte. I like the fact that you can have an opportunity to choose EXACTLY which channels you want and pay for what you watch, not a big package with channels like soap net. I understand cablevision will own this company. Alot of you probably know about this, and some of you might have more information. By all means- fill us in!!! I'm excited!!! 20 HD channels at launch. Here is a link for the Brochure: http://wvjw.info/daily-news/

Happy Reading!!!!

This is not strictly speaking a DBS service as it will not be using satellites at any of the ITU north american DBS orbital slots nor using FCC DBS frequencies. Making it a FSS service

They plan on using the 61.5 orbital location. The sat launches in May.

FSS = Fixed Satellite Service

it is a service class defined by the FCC, as is DBS. The major differances being license fequencies, target users and modulation methods. ex. C-band is a FSS, DirecTV and DishNet are DBS
