I just got this set up and it wouldn't turn on. Tech came out and had to replace the color wheel. Wonder if this is indicative of more problems to come?
The DVDs look pretty good. I have a Comcast HDMI DVR box and the HD channels seem to pixelate, like the TV is tying to "catch up" with the signal. Has anyone experienced this? This is noticable when the picture moves or changes.
I am disappointed and expect a cleaner picture from this highly-rated DLP set from Samsung.
Comments appreciated.

I also want to ask about digital cable. I have the cable coming into my house split about 10-11 times, but with a power booster. Can the strength (or weakness) of the digital cable signal going into the HD cable converter box impact the quality of the HD picture? Thanks.

and how important is the HDMI cable itself? I bought one at Best Buy for $50.
1. With digital (HD) channels, you either get them or you don't. If you're watching an HD channel, then increasing signal strength will not improve the picture, like it can for an analogue channel.
2. Same holds for an HDMI cable. if you have a picture and you're not getting "sparklies" from a poor connection, then the picture is as good as it'll get with that connection. You can however improve the PQ - see the HDTV FAQs below:
- Why does my HDTV have poor SD PQ.
- What you need to do to your new HDTV.
See alos the FAQ "Acronyms and Definitions" for a desciption of macroblocking and pixellation. If you have pixellation and not macroblocking, then a better signal is required.
Check the HDTV FAQ "Motorola STB" for S/N Ratio and signal strength if you have a broadband connection and appropriate modem.

Sounds more like a STB problem than tv. Try component cables too.
The 11 splits and then amping the signal could be an issue too.
Sort through this for more owner based info on the 1080p sets

Those are the good ol' compression artifacts you are seeing. This not the set. This is your provider trying to conserve bandwidth.
