I have been lurking on this site for a while now but thought I would register and thank everyone for the great information on HDTV - particularly equipment.
My analog big screen just died and little did I realize that shopping for a new hdtv was more complicated than buying a car. I am particularly interested in the DVI vs Firewire debate and actually returned my first purchase after reading information from this site.
I am currently considering the Pioneer Elite Pro530HD. I think this has the best picture I have seen - of course it is pricey. The model I saw was in a specialty store and had been ISF calibrated. I also learned that the Elite 58" is the ISF reference standard for rear projection televisions. The other model I am considering is the Hitachi 51xwx20b. It is not yet available but I like the dvi and firewire connections.
Anyway, thanks again for all the great information.
