View Full Version : Help w/my PS3 and Samsung HLR6178W 1080P DLP

I have read everything I can on my Samsung 61" 1080p DLP and the PS3. I've connected using an HDMI cable. For whatever reason, I cannot get 1080P to display, only the other formats (720p and 1080i). The TV just indicates "no signal found" when I try testing/using 1080P resolution.

Anyone else have this issue or know how I can fix this?!?!

Thanks in advance!

I don't believe the TV "accepts" a 1080p signal (read the fine print under the TV's picture).

Sounds like your HDTV is one of the early 1080p advertised sets that does not take a 1080p input source. I will take a 1080i signal and output as a 1080p signal. What do your specs say?

I don't believe the HDMI input supports 1080p on this model.

The Specs on crutchfield say for 1080p it "converts"...meaning....

"Conversion means the TV will upconvert the incoming [1080i] signal to 1080p."

you need a HDTV with "Direct" 1080p input.

Kind of false advertising by calling it 1080p.

It's a 1080p native display, nothing false about that... Not openly disclosing it can't accept a 1080p signal over HDMI is a different story.
