Comcast does not have a HD box with a HDMI connection "without" getting the DVR one... their regular HD box must be hooked up with component cables... do I need the DVR box with the HDMI for better picture ?

Recording means nothing to me. I want the best picture. Or doesnt it matter with component or HDMI ?

Thanx!

Component is analog, HDMI is digital. PQ wise, I see no difference. Use component. I use to before I got an HDMI switcher.

Check out the HDTV FAQs:

- DVI/HDMI Information (point 2, etc)
- What you need to do to your new HDTV
- Motorola STBs
- Etc.

In my Comcast service area, the non-DVR STB has a DVI-out connection, so that might be another choice for you, unless they specifically told you Component is your only option. I went with the DVR box, so I'm connected via HDMI.
